09/09/2010 Weekly Crime Poll: Will Chapman Ever Be Released?
For the sixth time, a New York Parole Board has denied parole to the killer of The Beatles' John Lennon. Mark Chapman, who shot and killed Lennon in New York in December 1980, was sentenced to 20 years to life and will be eligible to apply for parole again in 2012.

09/08/2010 Honeymoon Dive Killer Could Face U.S. Charges
An Alabama man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in connection with the drowning of his wife during a honeymoon scuba dive in Australia may also face murder charges in the United States. David Gabriel Watson could face premeditated murder charges in Alabama after a deal between the state's attorney general and authorities in Queensland.

Watson is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence in Australia after pleaded guilty to manslaughter in June 2009. Read more...

09/07/2010 Man Charged in Alicia DeBolt Murder
A man previously arrested on unrelated charges has now been charged with sexual assault and murder of a 14-year-old girl whose burned body was found behind a Kansas asphalt plant. Adam Joseph Longoria was charged with capital murder, criminal sodomy, vehicular theft and vehicular burglary in the Alicia DeBolt case.

Longoria could face execution if found guilty, but prosecutors have yet to decide whether or not to seek the death penalty. Read more...

09/06/2010 Van der Sloot Admits Holloway Extortion
The Dutch man being held in Peru for the murder of a young woman has admitted to a newspaper in The Netherlands that he extorted money from the family of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway. Joran Van der Sloot told De Telegraaf that he extorted the money to get back at the Holloways for making his life miserable for five years.

Van der Sloot is awaiting trial in Peru for the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in a hotel room in Lima. Read more...

09/05/2010 More Charges Filed in Billings Murder Case
Ten people have now been charged for crimes in connection with the July 2009 home invasion robbery and murder of a Florida couple known for adopting special needs children. A Mississippi grand jury has indicted three people with trying to get rid of some of the guns used in the robbery of Byrd and Melanie Billings in Buelah, Florida home.

Hugh Wiggins, Pamela Long Wiggins and a friend of theirs, Eddie Denson, were indicted on accessory-after-the-fact charges. Read more...

09/03/2010 Weekly Crime Poll: A Case of Murder?
A Georgia woman who was convicted of killing her policeman husband and later her fireman boyfriend died in prison this week. Lynn Turner, also known as the Antifreeze Killer, was found dead in her cell at Metro State Prison in Atlanta. Investigators said an autopsy revealed no indication of foul play, but toxicology and other test are still pending.

08/31/2010 Judge Rejects More Delays in Casey Anthony Trial
Orange County Circuit Judge Belvin Perry Jr. warned attorneys at a status hearing that there will be no further delays or postponements in the first-degree murder trial of Casey Anthony, charged with the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. Judge Perry also told the lawyers to expect to work long days six days a week as the trial gets underway.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin May 9, 2011 in the capital murder trial. Read more...

A Georgia woman who was convicted of killing her policeman husband and later her fireman boyfriend has died in prison. Lynn Turner, 42, was found unresponsive in her cell at Metro State Prison in Atlanta.
